I am so excited to do a show I have titled “Britishmania!” During the 1960’s, the UK gave us the great British bands, such as THE MOODY BLUES, HERMAN’S HERMITS, THE ROLLING STONES, to the legendary BEATLES. Very few American recording artists were ever able to break through what became known as the “British Invasion.” Our “Who’s Behind the Music” guest BOBBY FELDMAN, is one man who DID! With his band THE STRANGELOVES, and their #1 hit “I WANT CANDY“. Bobby Feldman also wrote iconic hits such as “HANG ON SLOOPY” by the THE McCOYS and “MY BOYFRIEND’S BACK” by THE ANGELS…ALL giant hits. There were only a few American artists like THE FOUR SEASONS & FRANKIE VALLI, and the artists of MOTOWN that broke through the British line. But our “Who’s Behind the Music” guest tonight, BOBBY FELDMAN, was one of the few American record producers, writer, and artist who did break through the Britishmania of the 60’s!
