And I also promise you that this Saturday I am going to have my friend JOEY DEE share some of his stories from his best selling book, “PEPPERMINT TWIST CHRONICLES!” I have been raving about this book to friends, so I invited Joey Dee, who not only has his own hits with his ground-breaking group, JOEY DEE & THE STARLITERS, but also he started the careers of JIMI HENDRICKS, THE RASCALS, and THE RONETTES… AND the movie debut of their friend, ACADEMY AWARD RECIPIENT, JOE PESCI, who made his movie debut in Joey Dee’s first motion picture, “The Peppermint Twist!” This book chronicles the life of one of the most famous nightclubs in New York City history… only the famous COPACABANA may exceed it. The book also chronicles the mobs interest in Joey’s career, the influence that he and The Starliters may have had on THE BEATLES, who insisted on making their way to The Peppermint Lounge on their first trip to the U.S.!
