This Saturday night, we honor the extraordinary talents of LADY GAGA, a once in a generation artist! Singer, songwriter, ACADEMY AWARD winner for her song “Shallow,” and nominated as Best Actress for her performance in “A Star Is Born”…. and now to what is already called an iconic performance in the the new major motion picture, “House of Gucci,” which just opened last Wednesday. And she is already the talk of Hollywood as an automatic nomination for an ACADEMY AWARD as Best Actress for her latest role. Yes, I am going GAGA on this show because we play all of her number one hits, and on top of that ….we praise my old friend, TONY BENNETT, who, without out a doubt, is one of the greatest singers of all time, giving us all 70 years of iconic performances and songs that he is identified with! Such as “I Left My Heart In San Francisco.” And we’ll continue to go GO GAGA and PRAISE BENNETT, by playing their current duet albums that he and LADY GAGA have recorded and sold millions together, singing The Great American Songbook standards, in a way that one can only describe as magical! By the way, this Sunday night is an example of that magic as the Lady and her Tony perform for “One Last Time,” their TV special on CBS, and sadly for TONY BENNETT, who is in his nineties and still sounding incredible, but because of his fight with Alzheimer’s disease and his age, this will mark the last album and television appearance that he will ever make again.
But this Saturday and in our case, NOT the last time, Thank God, we will play the great music of TONY BENNETT and LADY GAGA’S music both together, and their solo recordings as well.
