Singer Robin Luke Will Be This Saturday Night’s Special Guest

3-16-cousin-brucie-article

My next visitor on WABC MusicRadio fascinates me. I have never met or interviewed him. Robin Luke had one major hit and literally went back to college as a professor.

He was born in Los Angeles and lived in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1958, according to Rock & Roll mythology he wrote and recorded a song about his five year old sister Susie. (We’ll check this on the Air).

“Susie Darlin’” was a smash hit – reaching Number 5 on the pop charts. The recording sold over a million copies and earned a Gold disc award. Now here’s the amazing part of this story – In 1965, Robin decides to quit the music business and gets a Ph.D. in Business Administration and Marketing and becomes a Professor at several Universities. Occasionally, the Prof. comes out of the classroom and goes back on stage to perform.

Robin Luke will perform at the Rockin’ DooWop show on April 23d at Half Hollow Hills East High School, Dix Hills, NY. He will join
Herb Reed’s Platters, Cleveland Stills & the Dubs, Jimmy Clanton, Tony Middleton and the Willows, Norman Fox and the Rob Roy’s, The Fireflies and many others.

Tickets – 631 587-3565.
ROBIN LUKE visits the Cuz on WABC this Saturday 3/19/22.

It’s going to be an evening you won’t want to miss…and it all begins at 6pm! Listen on 770 AM, wabcmusicradio.com, and the 77 WABC app. This Saturday night from 6PM-10PM EST.

Cousin Brucie will also take requests and dedications live on-air! The call-in number is 800-848-9222.

Don’t turn the radio off after Cousin Brucie’s show is over because “Saturday Nights with Tony Orlando” comes on right after from 10 pm-midnight. It is going to be an amazing night!
