This week’s special guest on Cousin Brucie’s Saturday Night Rock & Roll Party will be the Bo Donaldson.
Our visitor this week will be Bo Donaldson, the founding member of Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods. The band was formed in Cincinnati in 1965. Their success was unusual. Their hit records in the US were “covers” of recordings that were originally released in the UK. The band was discovered while they were touring with The Osmonds (early ‘70s). Their big break came in 1974 when they Released “Billy Don’t Be A Hero” and “Who Do You Think You Are.” Both songs charted, with “Billy” reaching #1 (for two weeks). The record sold more than 3 ½ million copies and earned a Gold Disc.
