Hello Cousins!

Our guest this week rode the crest of the New Orleans Rock & Roll sound of the 50’s and 60’s. Jimmy Clanton
formed his first band in 1956, The Rockets – awhile he was a student at Baton Rouge high school. By 1958 he was hitting the music charts- his first major Hit “Just A Dream” hit number 4 on the Pop charts and number 1 on the R&B lists. He followed that with “Go Jimmy Go” and then the chart busting “Venus In Blue Jeans”(1962).

Jimmy was drafted and served the next two years in the US Army. He starred in a Rock & Roll movie produced by Alan Freed – “Go Johnny Go” and later starred in the film “Teenage Millionaire”.

Jimmy remains very popular nationally on the Oldies Concert circuit and continues to be adored by his audience. Join the Cuz and welcome Jimmy Clanton to WABC MusicRadio on Saturday 9/24/22.

The best music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I will take requests and dedications live on-air! The call-in number is 800-848-9222. Special segments – One Hit Wonder, All Request Radio and the popular “Love Hour 1/2 Hour segment.” Four Hours of Fun Radio and Great Memories.

It’ll be one to remember!

Listen on Saturday from 6pm-10pm! Don’t turn the radio off after my show is over because the “Saturday Nights with Tony Orlando” show comes on right after from 10pm-midnight. It is going to be an amazing night!
