Hello everybody!
When FRANK SINATRA won the Academy Award for his dramatic performance in the film “From Here To Eternity”, it raised the question…Will a dramatic actor ever win an award like the Grammy for singing? Like singer, SINATRA, won the Oscar for his acting? Well, since then that crossover has happened many, many times for actors turned singers and singers who turned actors.
Hence, the idea for this show was born! Yep, that is what we explore this Saturday night! And what we came up with is extraordinary! Example… One of those actors turned singer is my guest tonight. My longtime friend, JAMES DARREN, who we all may call him JIMMY DARREN, either way, it’s ok with him!
A Stella Adler trained method actor and starred in so many ICONIC films! Aside from his dramatic work in film, he starred in the iconic “Gidget” films. JAMES DARREN also starred in the huge television series “TJ Hooker”, in Star Trek as the beloved character “Vic Fontaine”, and starred in his hit television series “Time Tunnel”.
So now let’s talk about the SINGER, JIMMY DARREN! He records “Her Royal Majesty”…Number one Record! Then “Goodbye Cruel World”…Number One Record! Both going gold! To prove our point in our show tonight, he’s an actor that can sing, and a singer that can act! And you’ll meet many of those on this show, this Saturday Night!
