Larry Chance and the Earls are truly a New York Success story. They were discovered singing on street corners and in the subway (great echo). They developed an exciting new natural harmony for their audience.
Larry Chance the original founding member of the group was born in Philadelphia and eventually moved to the Bronx with his folks. He originally formed a group called the Hi-Hatters. They worked hard to find that special DooWop sound and eventually found the formula and changed their name to The Earls.
In 1962 Larry Chance and the Earls hit the charts -they released the single “Remember Then”- the record became a National hit. They followed it with a New York smash “Never”and “Life Is But A Dream”. Larry released what is considered to be a New York classic “I Believe”.
Larry Chance and the Earls are constantly on the road appearing on the oldies circuit. The standing ovations continue for Larry and the Group.
