This Saturday Night’s Special Guest is Tommy James!!!

11-23-cousin-brucie

Hi Cousins!

I have always enjoyed a visit from my friend Tommy James. His national concert tours, radio show, his new movie, recording, writing have kept him extremely busy and now here’s his latest project – TOMMY JAMES AND THE SHONDELLS – 40 YEARS – THE COMPLETE SINGLES COLLECTION (1966-2006)

This collection (a perfect Holiday gift) – spans the career of Tommy James and The Shondells. Also features Tommy’s solo career. There is an interesting “lost” track that was recorded in 1962 – by Tom and the Tornados – “Long Pony Tail.”

Tommy was at a Chicago radio station for a concert. The radio station played an unfinished version of “Crimson and Clover” – it was an instant hit and Tommy and The Shondells had two follow-up hits that topped the charts. “Sweet Cherry Wine” and “Crystal Blue Persuasion” that were both co-written by Tommy. They were so successful that they were invited by Artie Kornfeld to perform at a pig farm upstate.

“There’s gonna bea lot of people at this concert.” Tommy was in Hawaii at the time and suggested that they should start without him. He wasn’t interested in a pig farm concert. That “pig farm” concert turned out to be Woodstock!

We will talk about the pig farm and and many other things with Tommy James – so join us this Saturday 11/26/23 on MusicRadio WABC and welcome Tommy with the CUZ.

The best music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I will take requests and dedications live on-air! The call-in number is 800-848-9222. Special segments – One Hit Wonder, All Request Radio and the popular “Love Hour 1/2 Hour segment.” Four Hours of Fun Radio and Great Memories.

It’ll be one to remember!

Listen on Saturday from 6pm-10pm! Don’t turn the radio off after my show is over because the “Saturday Nights with Tony Orlando” show comes on right after from 10pm-midnight. It is going to be an amazing night!
