Opening day in the Bronx just got a little (emo)tional .
Ahead of the start of the New York Yankees opening day ceremony, YES Network, The Yankees official sports network, took to their social media platforms and posted an incredible hype reel that not only have Yankee fans extremely excited for the season, but former and current Emo fans all across the board, too!
The hype reel features My Chemical Romance’s ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ one of the band’s most iconic tracks of all time. The video featured on YES was a nod to not only this season, but the history and dynasty that the Yankees have continued to “carry on”- as the lyrics to the song state. As the song plays in the background, we see and hear highlights from Yankee history dating back to the days of Ruth & DiMaggio, all the way to Judge and Rizzo today.
The song was originally released back in 2006, and has since become a beloved classic for fans of alternative music all across the world.
