Hello my friends!
A few weeks ago, I had an idea that we could play songs that became huge hits with names being the driving force, and I was astonished at your response to loving the show that had the list of giant hit records with names! I thought maybe we should make multiple shows!
So, I asked on some social media platforms if you all thought I should go for a volume two or a part two.
Well, I waited for your response and WHOA….we all were blown away! So, here it is…. It’s All In The Name Game Show, Volume 2! And to even make the show more informative, my special guest this Saturday Night is RICHARD GOTTEHRER, the artist, songwriter, record producer, manager, and co-founder of SIRE RECORDS with his partner, the late, great, SEYMOUR STEIN, who sadly we just lost this past week.
SIRE RECORDS is one of most ground breaking record companies of all time! It is the home of BLONDIE, THE RAMONES, and MADONNA. RICHARD GOTTEHRER also wrote and produced iconic hits like “My Boyfriend’s Back” by THE ANGELS in the early 60’s to “I Want Candy”, a major hit by his band, THE STRANGELOVES. “I Want Candy” was also a huge hit by the late AARON CARTER years later, and again by BOW WOW, and is the most used song for award-winning television commercials.
RICHARD GOTTEHRER also produced the giant hit song, “Hang On Sloopy” for THE MCCOYS, with partners BOBBY FELDMAN and JERRY GOLDSTEIN. They formed a company called “FGG” (Feldman, Gottehrer, and Goldstein) and they became the super hit-makers of the 60’s & 70’s. In fact, it seems to me everything RICHARD GOTTEHRER has been a part of has been not only super successful, but also game changing!
Yes sir, it’s Saturday night and we will have a true GENIUS on the air with us, RICHARD GOTTEHRER! And just for the heck of it, he will even reveal who “Candy” was in his huge hit, “I Want Candy”, AND if there was a real person named “Sloopy” from “Hang On Sloopy”!
