Album Review: ‘The Album’ By Jonas Brothers Is All About 70’s Summer Vibes

5-12-jonas

The Jonas Brothers have been a group for nearly 20 years, and they have proven time and time again that they will always be iconic.

Now, with their newest release, the guys have set their precedent as mature artists and taken it to new heights.

The album, entitled The Album – is the trio’s sixth full length release, featuring twelve tracks that create a 70’s pop atmosphere that are guaranteed to leave you with an incredible feeling of nostalgia.

The trio is known for their versatility when it comes to their overall sound- and this album proves that while they are a Pandora’s box for genre and style, Nick, Joe, & Kevin still manage to create a staple sound that stays unique and true to the group all while maturing like fine wine.

Some of the most notable tracks aside from singles “Wings” and “Waffle House” include “Summer Baby” – which gives us an extreme pop feel as well as “Vacation Eyes” and “Americana” which are both reminiscent of the disco era with a dash of hip-hop. On the other side of the spectrum, “Walls” has a far more rocky feel with guttural vocals served up by Joe Jonas, layered vocals and a strong classic rock influence on the instrumentals. Instrumentals are also a huge part of the brilliance of the tracks, with fun sax solos, guitar riffs, crashing cymbals and more.

The album is also impressive lyrically, with tracks like “Little Bird” reflecting their experiences with fatherhood, – down to the album opening with Joe shouting “New Jersey!” taking us back to the boys roots.

All in all, The Album by Jonas Brothers is without a doubt worth listening to and will be on everyone’s playlists this summer and many more to follow.
