Not long ago, my brother David came to me with the idea of using “Luck” as a theme for the show. Immediately, it brought to my mind a song that BRITNEY SPEARS recorded called “Lucky “…a song that was prophetic in an eerie way. The lyric tells the story of a girl named “Lucky“, whose dream was to be a Hollywood Star, but Lucky’s dream turned into an unlucky nightmare! It’s very a much a mirror image of the beautiful and talented BRITNEY SPEARS’ journey, who is by the way a true world wide mega-star who has been through hell!! Pray for Britney!
So, I thought… how many songs tell of, and have inspired “lucky” and “unlucky” stories. Well, let me tell you… You will be amazed at how many hits refer to luck in their titles. Yes, the good and the bad of Luck!!! Songs like “Poker Face” by LADY GAGA…ROD STEWART telling us that “Some Guys Have All The Luck”… Or FRANK SINATRA, like only SINATRA can say it for the Vegas Gambler, “Luck Be A Lady Tonight”!!! Or, how about the “unlucky” that RAY CHARLES sings about in his bad luck, hit song called “Busted”!!!
And then I wondered… What do you think is the answer to this question is… What would you rather be, Smart or Be Lucky? For example, it takes no smarts to win the Mega Billion Dollar lottery…that’s all luck!
But, what about KENNY ROGERS song “The Gambler“? You have to know when to hold ‘em and know when to fold ‘em! Now that’s all about being smart! So, I decided to call my son JON ORLANDO in Las Vegas, and pose the question to him since he has actually participated playing his hand in the World Series Of Poker. So, again…What is more important, smarts or luck? Well, I’ll call my son JON ORLANDO (who is the host of his own Podcast called ACTION JUNKEEZ!) this Saturday night for his answer, and trust me, his answer may surprise you and me! Now, this will not surprise you that the music inspired by this lucky theme will be incredible!
