Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor has passed away at the age of 56.
According to multiple reports, the ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ singer passed away following numerous years of mental health issues. Her death also follows the death of her 17-year-old son, Shane- who passed away after taking his own life.
In the months leading up to O’Connor’s death, her management team released a statement explaining that the famed and controversial songstress would be cancelling all of her upcoming shows through the rest of the year.
O’Connor’s finally post on social media was a tweet, paying tribute to her late son saying:
“#lostmy17yrOldSonToSuicidein2022.
Been living as undead night creature since. . He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul. We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him”.
O’Connor is survived by her other three children.
