“….Down by the station early in the morning- see the little Puffer Bellies…. “ and the haunting and lovely “26 Miles’s across the sea, Santa Catalina is……” two tweaks from hit songs by “America’s Boy Band” The Four Preps.
Original member and founder of the band Bruce Belland will pay us a visit this Saturday (9/16/23). The Preps joined several other pop groups reaching the charts – just slightly before Rock & Roll jolted the world into the next phase of music.
It was a calm,sweet time – however, it was time for the Rock to Roll! To this day, I enjoy occasionally mixing the two genres on the Air. It works well and gives us all a good feeling of familiarity. The Four Preps enjoyed eight gold singles and three gold albums . including: “Down By The Station”, “26 Miles” and “Big Man”. Join me in welcoming a most interesting visitor – singer, actor, producer, author and pop icon, Bruce Belland.
