Hello my friends!
This Saturday Night I decided to pay tribute to a legend in the name of BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, also known as “THE BOSS”. Now…you just don’t acquire such a title from millions of people around the world without reason. Well, after listening to my show this Saturday night, you may utter these four words…. “NOW I GET IT!!!” In fact, you will, because when you hear “The Boss’” new album “ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE”, combined with the BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN CLASSICS for two hours, and it is a jaw dropping two hours, I might add!
Now, let me remind everyone…we all know and love the raw SPRINGSTEEN, the COUNTRY SPRINGSTEEN, the ROCKER SPRINGSTEEN, the pure BLUES SPRINGSTEEN, the SINGER-SONGWRITER SPRINGSTEEN, the PROTEST SONGWRITER SPRINGSTEEN, the GENIUS LYRICIST SPRINGSTEEN, and now in this album the FAN SPRINGSTEEN…who openly shares with us who are HIS soul and inspirations SPRINGSTEEN!
The music and songs from artists like JERRY BUTLER, SAM & DAVE, MARVIN GAYE, JACKIE WILSON, MOTOWN’S TEMPTATIONS, THE SUPREMES, and Motown songwriters such as HOLLAND-DOZIER-HOLLAND, and he nakedly pays homage to these great artists by singing their songs and SUPER soulfully, I might add! Yes, he is one soulful R&B singer with all of his other talents…so much so, that it boggles the mind. Oh yeah, BRUCE, you are the full package! Oh yes, it can never be denied…you are THE BOSS!!!
And by the way, MAJOR Thank You’s to, STEVEN VAN ZANDT, Bruce’s co-pilot for 40 years, for answering my phone call and for sharing his heart with us about Bruce’s new album and confirming why his partner BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN is without a doubt also his soul brother!!!
