Hello everyone!
This past Halloween marked our 3rd year doing our radio show…That’s 156 themes so far!!! And believe me, I have a ball coming up with an idea for each show. So, I was thinking about the days when I started songwriting and how certain words could spark an idea for a song.
For example… we would say to each other, “Let’s write a magic song!”, or a girl’s name song, or a song
using “heart” in the title.
Of course, I’m talking years ago, those were the tools we would use… I’m not sure if it’s done much that way today. I think the writing today is more about personal experiences.
So, for this Saturday night’s show, the word that would stir song writers creative juices is “RAIN”! Yes, the word “rain” was, and still is a beautiful way to describe tears, sadness, or stormy times in our lives…a truly inspiring metaphor.
So sit back this Saturday night, and enjoy our rainy night with hits like: EDDIE RABBITT’S “I Love A Rainy Night “, THE TEMPTATIONS “I Wish It Would Rain”, the incredible BROOK BENTON’S “Rainy Night In Georgia”, to GARTH BROOKS with his hit “The Thunder Rolls” or BJ THOMAS’ “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head”, and how about JAMES TAYLOR’S “Fire and Rain”, and “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” by WILLIE NELSON.
