This week on Sundays With Sinatra, it’s SINATRA: Featuring Don Costa and his Orchestra!
‘SINATRA’ is a 1969 hour-long television special showcasing Mr. S. performing some classic tunes with the incomparable arranger, Don Costa.
This was only a couple years before Frank Sinatra retired in 1971.
On stage and on camera – in every single one of his television masterpieces, the Chairman of the Board had fun joking ‘around’ the music and he always displayed a very natural and from-the-heart intimacy between himself and the camera – (us, his adoring fans.)
Joe Piscopo has an allegiance to the rawness and the refined swagger of Mr. S. working live before a television audience.
And in that regard, we experience the best of ‘Ol Blue Eyes this week on Sundays With Sinatra.
