Cousins, meet The Duke of Earl also known as GENE CHANDLER. He is a singer, songwriter , music producer and record label executive . He became famous with his hits, “The Duke of Earl” and “Groovy Situation”. Gene’s career crossed several musical eras – from Doo Wop to Disco from the ‘60’s to the 80’s. He is a Grammy Hall of Fame inductee (2002) and a recipient of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation’s Pioneer Award. Gene was inducted as a performer into the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in 2014.
“The Duke of Earl” was selected by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the 500 songs that shaped Rock and Roll.
