“THE ASSOCIATION“ topped the charts in the mid to late ‘60s. Growing up in the Los Angeles area they were known for their tight vocal harmonies and a string of popular hits that defined the “sunshine pop” sound of the era.

They originally were a 13 piece folk-rock group called “The Men” and performed as the house band for the famous Troubadour Club in LA. The group eventually split and the remaining six members formed The Association (1965). The Association hit Gold with their debut album-“ And Then…Along Comes The Association” (1966). The album featured their top 10 hit “Along Comes Mary”. This chart-buster was followed by several other successful singles- “Cherish”, “Windy” and “Never My Love”.

Like so many ‘60’s bands, The Association were caught in the changing musical tastes of the late 60s. However, their musical excellence and previous success kept them afloat and today they still command a top spot with the audience, radio stations and especially at weddings. The Association was inducted into the Pop Music Hall of Fame in 2016.

Cousins, Let the Sunshine come in and let’s welcome Association member JIM YESTER this Saturday April 6, 2024.
