Luigi Alfredo Giovanni Sacco. We know him as LOU CHRISTIE.
Lou is an amazing performer and a very successful singer-songwriter.
His hits include the number one chart-topper – ”Lightning Strikes” (reached number 1 on his 23 birthday), “Two Faces Have I”, and I’m Gonna Make You Mine”. He collaborated with songwriter Twyla Herbert, who was in her 20s while Christie was in his mid-teens when they wrote his hits. Lou is truly a Renaissance guy – he worked as a trucker, roughneck, and “carnie” before finding his fortune and fame as a pop singer.
My favorite Lou Christie hit according to your requests is “Rhapsody of the Rain”.
You remember that “Rhapsody” caused a big stir and was banned on many radio stations because of the lyrics and content of the song. Eventually, he changed the lyrics to fit the finicky- formats. Lou also did an amazing version of “Beyond the Blue Horizon” in the major motion picture “Rain Man” (Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman).
His stage performances are electric and continue to thrill audiences Internationally.
