Sundays With Sinatra Alert: This week it’s SINATRA AT THE SANDS!
One of the all-time, most exciting and brilliantly performed albums of all time is Sinatra at the Sands.
Recorded in Las Vegas at the legendary Sands Hotel and Casino Copa Room in 1966.
Frank Sinatra came off the road from a summer tour with the (to quote Mr. S.) ‘juggernaut’ that is THE COUNT BASIE ORCHESTRA!
Mr. S. invited the incredible Quincy Jones to conduct the Basie Band.
What is so powerful about this LP is Quincy at the helm and The Count’s team of Eddie (Lockjaw) Davis on tenor sax, Sonny Payne on drums, Freddie Green on guitar, Al Grey and Harry Sweets Edison on brass and what most consider, the greatest band ever assembled!
Host, Joe Piscopo takes a retrospective deep dive into every aspect of the Chairman’s first live-released LP.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime, perfect and powerful storm of a live concert by the greatest vocalist and entertainer of all time, Francis Albert Sinatra.
