This week on Sundays with Sinatra: I REMEMBER TOMMY – THE BEST FRANK SINATRA INTERVIEW EVER and END OF SUMMER SONGS.
It’s a really big show this Sunday evening with Joe Piscopo.
We will feature a great 1961 LP tribute from Frank Sinatra to Tommy Dorsey.
Mr. Sinatra’s main goal as a young singer was to play with the ‘General Motors of Big Bands,” the legendary Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.
Mr. S. achieved that goal and became more famous than ever.
After two years, Francis Albert left Dorsey to go on his own and the rest is history.
In 1961, for Reprise Records, Frank Sinatra tips his fedora to Mr. Dorsey with ‘I Remember Tommy’.
Arranged by his Dorsey bandmate, the great Sy Oliver.
Also a live chat with the gentleman who conducted one of the all time best interviews with The Chairman, Mr. Bill Boggs.
(And perhaps an ‘end of summer’ tune or two.)
