ROCK & ROLL CALL

Eddie’s Mother Viola Holman recognized her son’s talent and introduced him to piano, guitar, and vocal lessons. This is not unusual – Mothers do that, however, at the time Eddie Holman was only two years old. He became a successful recording artist, renowned for his distinctive falsetto voice and his major hit song “Hey There Lonely Girl.”

He performed at the Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night which he won at the age of ten and captured the audience at Carnegie Hall as a teenager.

Eddie’s music career spans over five decades, with hits like “This Can’t Be True” and “Am I A Loser” in the 1960s. However, it was his 1970 adaptation of “Hey There Lonely Girl” that catapulted him to fame, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Eddie is an ordained minister and has been inducted into the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame.

Join the Cuz and let’s welcome EDDIE HOLMAN this Saturday 4/12/25. CB
