ROCK & ROLL CALL โ˜Ž๏ธ๐Ÿ“ž๐Ÿ“ž

This week, we have a doubler-header. Two amazing visitors.

At 7:00 PM ET this week itโ€™s KENNY NOLAN, a singer, songwriter and producer. He comes from Los Angeles and is best known for his Top 10 hit โ€œI Like Dreaminโ€™โ€. It climbed to number 3 on the charts (1976) and became a favorite ballad of the era.

He co-wrote several chart-topping hits with Bob Crewe, including Frankie Valliโ€™s โ€œMy Eyes Adored Youโ€ and Labelleโ€™s โ€œLady Marmalade,โ€ both of which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 1975โ€”an unusual back-to-back achievement for a songwriter.

Kenny was named Billboardโ€™s Number One New Pop Singles Artist of 1977 and won the Billboard Pop New Vocalist Award.

Join the Cuz and letโ€™s welcome Kenny Nolan to our Red Apple Music studio at 7:00.

And then at 8:00 another Rock & Roll Star.

Our visitor is MARK STEIN, the original vocalist and keyboard player for VANILLA FUDGE. The band was formed in Long Island, New York in 1966 and became one of the most influential American psychedelic bands. They were renowned for their unique style of slowing down and changing the sound of a popular song into an organ-driven recording.

Vanilla Fudge was an important precursor to heavy metal and progressive rock, influencing bands like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.

The original lineup consisted of Mark Stein (vocals, keyboards), Vince Martell (guitar), Tim Bogert (bass), and Carmine Appice (drums). They became famous for their groundbreaking cover of The Supremesโ€™ โ€œYou Keep Me Hanginโ€™ Onโ€, which reached #6 on the Billboard charts in 1967.

Other hits included: โ€œSeason of the Witchโ€, โ€œShotgunโ€, โ€œPeople Get Readyโ€ and โ€œSheโ€™s Not Thereโ€.

Letโ€™s welcome Mark Stein to MusicRadio WABC this Saturday
6/14/25. Enjoy the Flavor!
