ROCK & ROLL CALL 📞📞☎️
CHRIS MONTEZ grew up in Hawthorne, California, in a Mexican-American family. Influenced by Latino music and inspired by his idol Ritchie Valens—whom he met as a teen—Chris crafted a sound blending Rock & Roll, Pop Standards, and a splash of Chicano Rock.
He burst onto the scene in 1962 with his hit single “Let’s Dance,” which soared to No. 4 on the charts and got the world moving!
Chris followed up with hits like “Some Kinda Fun,” and toured internationally, sharing stages with legends like Sam Cooke, The Platters, Smokey Robinson—and even had The Beatles open for him in their early days.
In 1966, he conquered the airwaves again with “The More I See You” and “Call Me.”
Beyond the music, Chris is a nationally recognized, award-winning advocate for healthy living and public awareness campaigns.
This talented and caring star joins the Cuz this Saturday, 8/9/25.
Let’s Dance!
