Hello, my friends!
Remember “Who Put the Bomp (in the Bomp Bomp Bomp)”? I am sure you do! Well, the writer and artist’s name is BARRY MANN. And my friends, he not only sang and wrote that million-seller, but he also wrote songs that are some of the greatest of all time! With his wife, legendary lyricist CYNTHIA WEIL, they made Songwriters Hall of Fame history with songs like:
“You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’”
“On Broadway”
“Somewhere Out There”
“Just Once”
“Tonight I Celebrate My Love for You”
“Here You Come Again”
“We Gotta Get Out of This Place”
And that’s just a few of his enormous catalog of hits…songs that define our lives! In fact, one that defined my early recording life because in 1961 they wrote a song called “Bless You.” I was just 16 years old, and they were in their teens as well, and I am very proud to have had the honor of recording their very first hit together with that song! Plus, you’ll get a rare peek as we hear for the first time BARRY’S vocal demos of these incredible songs! Only proving that if it were his voice on the songs he wrote, he might have been the greatest singer-songwriter of all time, right there with MCCARTNEY and BILLY JOEL. Yes, you will hear demos never heard by the public! The only ones to have ever heard them are the artists who were fortunate to record them. And they are some of the greatest artists and recordings of all time, and that is not an exaggeration!
