CHICAGO is an amazing City and CHICAGO is an amazing rock band formed in 1967. They blended rock with an outstanding horn section and their early albums mixed jazz, rock, and soul.
The band has sold more than 100 million records featuring Peter Cetera (bass/vocals), Terry Kath (guitar/vocals), Robert Lamm (keyboard/vocals), Lee Loughnane (trumpet), James Pankow (trombone), Walter Parazaider (woodwinds), and Danny Seraphine (drums).
Through the 1970s, Chicago became one of the most successful American bands, earning multiple gold and platinum albums and hit singles including: โIf You Leave Me Nowโ, โDoes Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?โ,โ25 or 6 to 4,โ โSaturday in the Park,โ and โMake Me Smile.โ In September 2008,
Billboard ranked Chicago at number thirteen in a list of the top 100 artists of all time for singles chart success.
Our guest this week is Lee Loughnane who has been one of Chicgoโs driving forces from the very beginning. A founding trumpeter and key part of the horn section, he has helped define Chicagoโs distinctive blend of rock, jazz, and pop for more than five decades.
