ROCK & ROLL CALL

As soon as your hear his voice – you recognize Little Anthony. Anthony gained his fame as the lead singer of Little Anthony and the imperials.
Anthony was born in 1941, in Brooklyn, New York. His on target and powerful tenor helped define the sound of late 1950s and early 1960s with soul-infused doo-wop.
Anthony first found success in 1958 with Tears on My Pillow, a plaintive ballad that became a national hit and remains a hallmark and timeless classic of the era.
. . In 2009, Anthony and the Imperials were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a long-overdue honor, reflecting their influence on generations of vocal groups and R&B artists.
The group had many hit recordings that sold millions of records.
