This Week’s Special Guest Is George Galfo of The Mystics!

ROCK & ROLL CALL📞📞☎️📞
Our guest George Galfo will visit us on Saturday 5/2/26.
I always enjoyed having The Mystics at Palisades Park. Their smooth vocal harmony and smooth stage presence blended perfectly with our weekend shows.
They formed in Brooklyn, New York, in the late 1950s. Originally known as The Overons, the group changed its name after manager Jim Gribble came on board, and they soon became part of the lively doo-wop scene that was then thriving in New York. Their original lineup included George Galfo, Phil Cracolici, Albee Cracolici,, Bob Ferrante, and Al Contrera. Their name “The Mystics” was chosen in a now-famous bit of chance, with the final pick drawn from a hat.
The Mystics’ biggest hit was “Hushabye,” which reached No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959 and became their signature. The Mystics also released “ Don’t Take the Stars,” and “All Through The Night”. “Hushabye” was written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman for The Mystics in 1959.
In 2015, the original five members were inducted into the Doo Wop Music Hall of Fame, a fitting recognition for a group whose music captured the sweetness and innocence of early rock and roll.
Join us this Saturday , 5/2/26 for a visit from an original Mystic – George Galfo. CB
