ROCK & ROLL CALL
Did you know that Lobo was not a multi-member group. It was the solo venture of a very talented American singer-songwriter ROLAND KENT LAVOIE.
Lobo (Roland) became one of the defining voices of the 1970s soft-rock and easy-listening movement. Often mistaken for a multi-member group due to the name, “Lobo” (the Spanish word for wolf). Throughout his career, he achieved massive global success, selling over 15 million singles by blending sweet melodies, and deeply soulful lyrics. His 1971 breakout record, “Me and You and a Dog Named Boo,” became a massive international hit, reaching #5 on the charts. Lobo followed with the ballad “I’d Love You to Want Me,” which soared to #2 on the U.S. charts, hit #1 in Germany for an astounding 13 weeks, and topped the charts across major nations globally.
Other timeless hits quickly followed, including -“Don’t Expect Me to Be Your Friend” (#8 on the Hot 100).
Join Cousin Brucie and welcome Roland Kent LaVoie -LOBO to our show this Saturday. May 30, 2026.
