The Weeknd & Ariana Fans, this one’s for you.
Fans of the two artists woke up this morning to a treat- with that being a brand new release of The Weeknd’s ‘Die For You’, now featuring the incredible Ariana Grande!
The track, which was released on The Weeknd’s album ‘Starboy’ back in 2016, originally had no features on the record and still grew to be one of the most popular tracks included in his discography. Grande, however, manages to add a flare to the hit with iconic vocal runs and an opposite POV of the original lyrics elevating the new song to new levels.
While fans are loving the surprise release, this isn’t the first time the duo have collaborated on a project!
Over the years, the “Less Than Zero” and “God is a Woman” singers have worked together for singles “Love Me Harder,” “Off the Table,” and the most recent before this, “Save Your Tears (Remix).”
The singers performed “Love Me Harder” together on Saturday Night Live back in 2014. And, years later, they played “Save Your Tears (Remix)” at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
While it’s only two months into the year, it’s easy to assume that this collaboration will be nominated for collaboration of the year in the upcoming awards season.
Hopefully it will lead to a full collaboration album from the duo, as they never seem to disappoint the pop world, but prove it’s worth time and time again.
