This concert was part of a music festival held on August 20, 1982, in the Dominican Republic at the Altos de Chavón Amphitheater.**
Replete with the swinging and stinging Buddy Rich Orchestra — conducted by the late, great Vincent Falcone.
A searing highlight of this television masterpiece is the greatest drum solo ever recorded.
That solo? From Mr. Sinatra’s former roommate with the Dorsey Band — the legendary Mr. Buddy Rich.
