This week on Bulova Sundays with Sinatra, it’s a Ring-a-Ding-Ding! Reprise Records Weekend!
When Frank Sinatra left Capital Records after eight years, he started his very own record company, Reprise Records.
Having his own record company had been a dream of Mr. S. and when he did something, it was always First Class ‘all the way.’
The first LP from Reprise was an album called, Ring-a-Ding-Ding arranged by Johnny Mandel.
It is a swinging, 1960’s-type of fun and upbeat celebration of classic Francis Albert.
ALSO – we will revisit some esoteric cuts from the Reprise Collection!
Some tunes, you may have heard and some are single records that Mr. S. did as a one-off and are a blast to listen to on a Sunday night.
