This Week’s Special Guest Is Peter Noone Of Herman’s Hermits!

ROCK & ROLL CALL

The British Invasion of the 1960s brought many legendary bands to us, but few captured the lighthearted joy of the era quite like Herman’s Hermits. Fronted by the lead singer PETER NOONE, the group became a global phenomenon by delivering a string of bright and wholesome pop hits that dominated the music charts.

Peter was only 15 years old when he became the lead singer of the Manchester-based band. Originally called the Heartbeats, they changed their name after noting that Peter bore a striking resemblance to the character Sherman from the The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. “Sherman” quickly morphed into “Herman,” and the band officially became Herman’s Hermits. With his boy-next-door good looks, clean-cut image, and amazing stage presence, he immediately became a defining teen idol of the decade.

Herman’s Hermits focused on melodic, friendly pop songs. Their formula was an instant success.

The band achieved a massive string of hits on both sides of the Atlantic, including: “I’m Into Something Good” (1965), “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter”, “I’m Henry The Eighth, I Am”,   and the melodic ballad that remains a radio staple today “There’s A Kind Of Hush”.

In 1965, the band’s popularity peaked to the point where they actually outsold The Beatles in the United States.

Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone will join Tommy James and you Cuz for a SOLD OUT Show at the PNC Theater (NJ) on May 28th.

Let’s welcome this outstanding artist Peter Noone to our

MUSICRADIO Show on Saturday, May 23.   CB
